High performance acoustic underlays ideal for a wide range of floor finishes

Share

Our underlays are thin, dense resilient layers that easily lay flat when installed. They provide excellent impact sound reduction with minimal compression, making them ideal for use directly below most types of floor finish. Our products have been tested by independent bodies for use under different types of floors such as the British Carpet Technical Centre, SATRA and CERAM. These products are dense and robust and provide a de-coupling layer between sub-floor and the floor finish allowing for evenly distributed contraction and expansion movement.

Below are some of our most popular underlay used in refurbishment as well as new build projects. These meet building regulations (Part E compliance) as well as being competitively priced. They are made from granulated waste rubber and cork, both environmentally sustainable products.

Acoustic Insulation: Isorubber Top

Application:  High performance, plasticizer free, acoustic mat for all types of floor finish

Benefits

  • Suitable for use with all types of floor finish including under floor heating
  • Exceeds the Approved Document Part E 17dB reduction requirement for soft coverings
  • Independently tested by CERAM, SATRA and the British Carpet Technical Centre
  • The main component of Robust Details E-FC-9 and E-FC-10
  • Simple installation
  • Continues to perform for the lifetime of the building

Isorubber Top is an acoustic isolation and vibration reduction mat that provides a fixed resilient layer for floor construction. It is primarily used in concrete floor systems to achieve Approved Document Part E compliance, but can also be used in general sound proofing applications. It is also the main acoustic component of the Robust Detail E-FC-9 and E-FC-10 constructions

The Isorubber Top system is a fixed, resilient surface layer acoustic insulation and ceiling treatment for precast plank, in-situ concrete, steel composite and beam & block floors for use in new-build and refurbishment applications. The system consists of 3mm thick Isorubber Top adhered to the floor surface using Isobond Adhesive and a metal frame or Isosonic ceiling treatment below. These constructions can also be pre-completion tested to achieve BREEAM credits

System components

Don’t forget (ancillary products required for installation):

  • Isobond
  • Isosonic ceiling strip
  • Isosonic hanger type C

Acoustic insulation: Isorubber Contract

Application:   Cost effective acoustic mat primarily used in concrete floor systems. Compliance can be achieved with all masonry external flanking wall constructions

Benefits

  • Only 3mm thick.
  • Continues to perform for the lifetime of the building.
  • Suitable for use with under floor heating.
  • Simple installation

Isorubber Contract is an acoustic isolation and vibration reduction mat that provides a fixed resilient layer for floor construction. It is primarily used in concrete floor systems to achieve Approved Document Part E compliance but can also be used in general sound proofing applications.

Isorubber Contract is a 3mm thick acoustic insulation that is adhered to a floor surface, absorbing impact sound and vibration at source. It is an incredibly durable acoustic underlay with a density of approximately 640Kg/m3. Isorubber Contract provides an extremely cost effective method of achieving Approved Document Part E compliance when carrying out pre-completion testing.

Mineral wool can be included in the ceiling void to improve test results, this is recommended in beam & block constructions, as they have a lower mass than pre-cast plank and in-situ concrete floors.

System components

Don’t forget (ancillary products required for installation):

  • Isobond
  • Isosonic Ceiling Strip
  • Isosonic Hanger Type C
