Tile Depot introduces kitchen sinks by Blanco

Share

– Customers invited to take the ‘fork scratch’ test on unique material

The Tonbridge store of Tile Depot, the UK’s largest independent tile, stone and wood retailer, has introduced a range of kitchen sinks, taps and accessories by the highly regarded German brand, Blanco.

The Tile Depot store now features a display stand showcasing a selection of the top quality Blanco collection, which provides an extensive choice of sinks in various designs and classic and unique modern materials with a combination of practical benefits and real value for money.

Aesthetically timeless in the highest quality 18/10 chrome nickel steel, Blanco’s stainless steel range is easy to care for; heat, stain and acid resistant and hygienic, suitable for food preparation.  A number of models feature Blanco’s IF edge profile, just 1mm thick for an attractive flush mounted modern look, and some of the stainless steel sinks are also available with a textured, scratch resistant Microtex® finish.

Blanco’s ceramic collection comes with the brand’s PuraPlus® technology, fashioned in fine fireclay material, denser and heavier than traditional ceramic sinks for a truly higher quality, more durable and hardworking finish practical for family country house kitchens.

And for a splash of colour with an attractive natural-looking smooth satin surface, Tile Depot also offers Blanco’s wide choice of sinks in Silgranit® PuraDur® II, a remarkable material developed exclusively by Blanco. Made from 80% natural granite and of unsurpassed hardness, the non-porous, water-repelling surface of Silgranit® is easier to care for than any other and is completely hygienic, approved for contact with food and will not fade in direct sunlight for a lasting appeal.

Sinks made of Silgranit® are scratch, stain, acid and heat resistant to a massive 280°Celsius. In fact, Silgranit® is so good that Tile Depot in Tonbridge is inviting its customers to put it to the ’fork scratch test’ – when a fork is scraped on the surface, instead of creating scratches in the sink, the fork’s prongs are actually filed down – proving first hand to customers just one of the outstanding properties of the material.

Within the collection, there is also a huge choice of undermounted sinks for use with solid worktops for a contemporary, minimalist appeal.

Unlike others, every Blanco sink comes as a complete package with attractive taps in metal with a tough chrome finish as well as the appropriate waste fittings at one affordable price. Models with additional bowls come with a stainless steel colander to assist with hygienic food preparation and some also include integrated, removable food boards. Some models boast the Blancoclassic-box, which allows for the disposal of food waste directly into a lidded 17-litre capacity bin, which sits beneath the sink.

A number of upgrades are available. The choice of tap upgrades include monobloc mixers as well as those with pull-out hand sets and the manufacturer’s Blancofiltra taps, designed to provide fresh filtered drinking water directly from the mains supply. To effectively dispose of unwanted food, the Blanco ISE waste disposal unit shreds unwanted food into small particles to be rinsed away with water and those with a Blancoclassic-box sink can upgrade to the larger three bin concealed system to provide extra space and compartments for sorting waste for recycling.

Andy Kebbel, store manager at Tile Depot in Tonbridge, said: “We are thrilled to introduce the extensive collection of Blanco sinks, taps and accessories to our portfolio. Those buying kitchen sinks from other retailers and manufacturers have to consider the separate costs of the tap and waste fittings before even thinking about accessories such as colanders and chopping boards and it all adds up. With Blanco at Tile Depot, customers buy the whole kit and kaboodle and the range offers something for everyone, from the Blancolivit 45S – a single bowl 45cm sink in stainless steel at £212 all in to the Blancomodus M-90/ ALA432 – a spectacular corner unit with three bowls and drainer in Silgranit, available in a choice of 10 colours at £1070. It really is an amazing, comprehensive collection, already proving a hit with our customers.”

The Blanco collection joins Tile Depot’s massive range of wall and floor tiles, mosaics and decor tiles, wooden flooring and underfloor heating, grouts and adhesives, tiling tools and accessories and is now available to order from all 18 Tile Depot stores throughout London and the South East.

The whole shopping experience is easy at Tile Depot with professional staff to offer expert advice, the retailers’ useful ‘Loan a Tile’ and ‘Buy Back Unused Tiles’ services as well as in-store ‘lifestyle’ displays to help customers visualise their finished rooms, demonstrating what can be achieved by using combinations of tiles in different sizes and colours with mosaics, borders, trims and decorative tiles for various effects.

There are Tile Depot stores throughout London and the South East – in Aylesbury, Basingstoke, Bedford, Crawley, Cricklewood, Edgware, Enfield, Greenford, Hanwell, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Slough, Tonbridge, Uxbridge, Watford, Wembley and Whetstone – all open seven days a week, from 8am till 6pm on weekdays.
