Stiebel Eltron UK Launches New Ground Source Heat Pumps
A leading manufacturer of renewable technologies has launched its next generation of ground source heat pumps.
The new brine-water heat pumps in Stiebel Eltron UK’s WPF and WPC series are intended to replace current versions available on the market.
The newly launched WPF and WPC products offer installers and end users a number of additional benefits. These include:
- Higher coefficient of performance (CoP) of 5.0;
- Significantly quieter in operation;
- Easier to install due to integration of expansion vessels, soft starter, pressure hoses and circulation pump;
- Ability to use with Stiebel Eltron’s new Internet Service Gateway (which allows users to adjust heat pump settings via a smartphone, tablet or PC);
- The WPC can be split for ease of transport and installation;
- Higher kW output is available in single phase (230V) and the unit is now manufactured in 13kW (230V) making it ideal for larger domestic properties with higher heat loss.

The higher level of integration means the new products can be installed in smaller spaces and are installer friendly.”
The launch of the new ground source heat pumps comes at an exciting time for Stiebel Eltron UK. The company is seeing strong demand for its products in both commercial and residential projects across the UK.
High profile ground source heat pump projects include historic Soulton Hall in Shropshire which replaced traditional fossil fuels with two GSHPs, generating green hot water and heating for the 30-room manor house and coach house. Meanwhile, the award-winning Oyster Catcher restaurant on Anglesey installed a heat pump through a bore hole, providing space heating for the glass-fronted venue through underfloor heating and hot water for the wash rooms and kitchens.
In both cases, the GSHPs will significantly reduce CO2 emissions and save thousands of pounds a year on energy bills.
