Specflue’s One Stop Green Deal

Share

Since the Green Deal went live on January 28th, the name to turn to in every respect is Specflue – offering as they do the optimum package of expertise, products and training courses.

So just what is the Green Deal? The ideal explanation comes from Energy and Climate Secretary Edward Davey “ More and more families are being hit by the rising cost of fuel bills and the best way people can protect themselves from increased costs is to use less energy. This is where the Green Deal comes in , giving people a whole new way to pay for energy – saving home improvements. The Green Deal is a great deal. Improve the look of your home, make it cosier and at the same time save energy – what’s not to like?”

In actual operation, Green Deal Assessors will arrange to visit homes, talk about energy use and gauge if the homeowner could benefit from making energy efficiency improvements. The Assessor will recommend appropriate improvements and indicate whether they can be funded by Green Deal and repaid through your energy bills. Green Deal Providers will then quote for the recommended changes.

Once chosen a Green Deal Plan is set up for the work and and the repayments including the fixed interest rate. An approved installer does the work and the repayments are automatically added to the electricity bill for the home.

The scope for the supplier sector is huge given that 43% of UK buildings are inefficient in terms of greenhouse gas emissions, £125million is being set aside already for consumer funding and some 60,000 insulation jobs are expected to be added by 2015.

In terms of Specflue products, these are notably the MCZ range of pellet fuel boilers and stoves and the futuristic HEATBANK® system.

The exclusive and elegant Italian MCZ design features “Still” technology for silent operation with a geared motor that operates continuously, specially designed shock absorbers and a pellet tank completely separate from the smoke fan. The heat is diffused naturally by convection and the overall effect is enhanced by a large “wood-effect flame”.

In turn HEATBANK® features an advanced thermal system offering heat energy storage which can operate domestic hot water or even central heating if required. The energy is switched to mains water via a plate heat exchanger. No domestic water needs to be stored and the scale of the energy saving is shown by the thermal store generating three times the hot water of a gas boiler in the same time.

Specflue’s dedicated training centre in Sudbury, Suffolk is the largest and best equipped of its kind in the UK. Offering continual guidance from specialist staff who are totally conversant with best practice and all relevant regulations. The ideal content for Green Deal are the courses under the banner of BPEC (British Plumbing Employers Council) QFC recognised courses covering heat pump installation, hot water sysetms, energy efficiency and environmental awareness with duration of between one and four days as necessary and completion is confirmed by the vital certiifcation. The courses are an investment in business development and customer confidence.
