Scolmore introduces Inceptor Micro

Just 12 months after the launch of Inceptor, one of the industry’s most sophisticated, integrated LED downlights, Scolmore Group announces the introduction of Inceptor Micro – which incorporates the best features and benefits of its predecessor, and includes a choice of Fixed and Adjustable Bezels and comes with seven year warranty for domestic applications.

Inceptor Micro is a fire-rated, integrated LED downlight with a high-powered, compact, pre-wired driver and flow connector. The compact size of the driver gives the Inceptor Micro an overall height of only 55mm which means it can be fitted into a very shallow recess depth of just 50mm – making it one of the most flexible fittings currently available.

Scolmore has integrated its popular Flow Connectors into the product, which will make it quick and easy to install as well as to remove and replace for the purpose of circuit testing and for retrofits.

Inceptor Micro incorporates Scolmore’s award-winning FlameGuard® system technology, offers a 90-minute fire rating and is acoustic and airflow compliant. The company’s trademark blue strip of intumescent adds an extra barrier of protection against fire by expanding to fill the gap between plasterboard and light fitting. The fitting is IP44 rated when using the Fixed Bezel option.

It will be available in dimmable and non-dimmable options, both packing a lot of power into a very compact design and offering Part L Compliance for domestic installations (as of 2013). The product utilises a custom built SMD LED chipset, boasts a 400 lumen output and a 35° beam angle offering a neat and even spread of light. The bezels are available in a choice of finishes, white, chrome or satin chrome in fixed and adjustable formats.

From the end user’s point of view the choice of fixed or adjustable bezels offers a degree of flexibility, whilst for the wholesaler it means there is no need to stock two types of product when Inceptor Micro provides both adjustable and fixed options in one box.
