Schueco launches new manual version of successful ‘panoramic’ sliding door system

Share

In August this year, the UK’s leading aluminium systems specialist, Schueco UK Ltd, is further augmenting its range of glazed, panoramic sliding doors with the introduction of a manual version of its successful Schueco ASS 77 PD.HI system.

With ultra-slim sightlines (the interlock stile width is only 30 mm) and a perimeter frame that is entirely concealed within the wall, the new door provides maximum transparency and virtually uninterrupted external views. A pronounced ‘wow’ factor and an ability to span very wide openings make it ideal for use in high-end residential and commercial buildings.

The Schueco ASS 77 PD.HI can accommodate double- or triple-glazing which, in conjunction with the door’s thermally insulated frames, delivers ‘U’ values as low as 1.1 W/m2K. The glazing is bonded to the door leaf to ensure structural integrity and multi-point locking delivers security to EN 1627 RC2 standard.

As in the motorised version, the track in the manual ASS 77 PD.HI system forms part of the sliding door leaf with the rollers integrated into the sill profile. This ensures safe, trip-free access because the threshold lies completely flush. The door, which is available in two- or three-panel versions, can be fitted with either single or double tracks.

Panels can be up to 3.2 m wide and 3.0 m high with a maximum panel weight of 300 kg, yet thanks to an advanced ergonomic handle, the door remains easy to open and close.

The absence of electric motors or running gear means that the height of the perimeter frame is just 58 mm at the jamb and 90 mm at the head and sill. This optimises the integration of the door into the building structure, simplifying the attachment details and making installation easier and quicker.
