Period House, Hertfordshire

Share

A period house in Hertfordshire required something new and special to be designed, creating an enlarged kitchen, dining and informal seating area. The Orangery was meticulously designed to include deep fascias with dentil blocking used to mimic the house’s own eaves. Both of these design elements give substantial weight to the new building.

The large timber roof lantern provides natural light to this spacious and comfortable room. Double folding stacking doors open up a vast aperture leading out to the sculptured gardens and a welcoming patio area.

Careful consideration was paid to the matching of bricks, pointing and paint finish, in order to blend the new building with the old.
