THE MANY ‘FACES’ OF WASHROOM WASHROOM
Innovative washroom manufacturer Washroom Washroom has created stand out facilities for one of London’s latest office developments, 27 Mortimer Street, by installing glass-clad cubicles to all faces.
The office, round the corner from Oxford Circus, was refurbished recently in a project overseen by Ben Adams Architects, with Washroom providing new washroom facilities on two floors. Working alongside Elev8 Interiors, a specialist interior-fit-out company, Washroom installed both male and female washrooms on the ground and second floors of the building in a sleek monochrome design.
Washroom’s Alto Kristalla cubicle systems, which were designed to be completely glass clad on all faces including partitions, were manufactured full height to ensure privacy for end users. The glass, which was specially toughened for extra durability, was back-painted in white to create an elegant and seamless appearance.
Technical stone vanity units in a bespoke floating trough design including a gentle slope, were installed along with Corian partitions between the urinals. The full height vanity units were designed with storage space behind the mirrors which, together with the concealed wastebins, maintain the crisp clean lines of the design, while also providing a practical solution.
Peter Lunn, quantity surveyor at Elev8 Interiors commented: “Everything went very smoothly from start to finish and we found the team from Washroom great to work with, making the whole process easier. We’re really pleased with the finish too, which is of a very high standard and fits perfectly with the client’s vision.”
Trevor Bowers, director at Washroom Washroom added: “This is the latest in a string of high profile commercial office fit outs we’ve been involved in and highlights the flexible nature of our new Iconica Collection. The bespoke glass cladding to all faces of the WC cubicles ensures a lasting first impression is made on visitors.”
