Barnes-based commercial and residential refurbishment specialists, fuse design + build (www.fuse-db.com) are soon to unveil the theatre conversion project at London Wetland Centre (WWT) in Barnes, South West London. The fit out specialists are delivering innovative, contemporary designs in a new multi-purpose events venue launching this summer 2016.

The aim of the new development project is to cater for the multitude of day-to-day activities and events that the world-renowned WWT has to offer in its unique setting. It will appeal to visitors and school groups and provide a unique setting for corporate days, weddings and other event hire all year round.

fuse has devised design concepts with WWT with an “eco-chic” theme for the venue using neutral and rustic, earthy tones, compelling graphics and raw materials to create a contemporary indoor, outdoor feel and to emulate the awe-inspiring, natural environment.  With a stylish decked area at the rear of the building cantilevered over the water and a covered structure sympathetic to the surroundings, fuse and WWT aim to create the perfect platform for event hire and provide a stunning entertaining space to compliment and accentuate the beautiful backdrop of the Wetlands.

With a strong AV, mechanical and electrical division, fuse will also design and install full cinema capabilities and interactive technology for screenings and presentations during corporate days and for WWT’s on-going formal educational programmes. Plus, various water-saving measures will also be incorporated in this project backed by Thames Water.

David Green, Manager of London Wetland Centre, comments; “Bringing this exciting development project to fruition with Thames Water is part of our on-going strategy to enhance and expand our overall offering at WWT. Together with the dedicated and highly professional team at fuse design + build, we look forward to revealing a fantastic new venue that will compliment the natural surroundings and augment our values and efforts in conserving and appreciating the environment around us.”

Managing Director of fuse, Lee Heath, adds; “We are extremely proud to be working with WWT and Thames Water in such an exciting development project in London.  The designs and flexibility of the venue aim to offer a wide appeal and create a memorable and inspiring place for all ages to enjoy.”
