EQUITONE [materia] fibre cement material specified for new Data Centre

Share

Leicester County Council’s brand new state-of-the-art data centre in Glenfield has been completed with EQUITONE fibre cement facade material.

Designed to house the council’s computing and recording equipment, the building was constructed to meet the requirements of the ICT department for a new home for their systems.

Loughborough-based  A+G Architects oversaw the project and worked closely with Wilmott Dixon to specify the use of EQUITONE [materia] to complete the exterior of the building.

Alan Filby, Director at A+G Architects, commented: “We were asked to create Leicester County Council’s data centre and we specified 280m2 of EQUITONE [materia] in Grey Mist. We chose this material and colour as it complemented the concrete panels of the adjacent buildings and a real bonus is its low maintenance properties, which ensures long term cost savings to the council.

“We’re really pleased with the finished result and the building looks great. We have worked with EQUITONE in the past and it would certainly be a material we’d look to specify in the future.”

EQUITONE [materia] is a through coloured facade material that accentuates the beauty of fibre cement. The material encompasses the characteristics of cement, whereas the fibres render its surface textured yet velvety. The ever-changing atmosphere, gives the material natural subtle shade variations.

All EQUITONE materials are available in a range of colours, finishes and fixing options giving full creative scope.
