Glass & Glazing Partitions

Danbury Mission Evangelical Church, Essex

Share

Working with architects Allen Associates and contractor Brooks & Wood, partitioning experts Style was specified to create flexible space in the Danbury Mission Evangelical Church, encouraging a multitude of activities to take place every week including services, teachings and community events. The main hall now benefits from a DORMA Varitrans glass partitioning wall that is effortless to manoeuvre and effectively sub-divides the space whilst retaining the natural light and openness of the building. The upstairs teaching rooms each feature Stylefold folding partitions finished in a mix of light blue, apple green and burgundy to complement the interior décor.

“There is a growing recognition that acoustic partitioning can increase rental income from existing church facilities,” confirms Style’s managing director, Julian Sargent. “We’ve been involved in many similar projects in recent years and have successfully helped divide the community space available in a wide variety of modern and period churchbuildings.”

An independent church and a member of the Evangelical Alliance, the Danbury Mission Church in Essex has no authoritative body beyond the local congregation, making its members ultimately responsible for the smooth running of the entire church. To accommodate the needs of a growing congregation, a major refurbishment and extension project was implemented.

The Varitrans glass partition in the main congregational hall is a contemporary, yet cost-effective partitioning solution that divides this large area by delivering privacy but without feeling contained. The Stylefold is also highly practical and offers a low cost moveable wall solution that can be installed in almost any location, making it particularly popular with churches, schools, village halls and community centres.

“We were delighted to have been specified once again by Allen Associates after completing many successful projects for them through our southern office,” said Keith Way, Style’s director for the south east. “The combination of the glass Varitrans and the colourful Stylefold, was perfect for the Danbury Mission and the project was delivered on time, within budget and to everyone’s complete satisfaction.”
