Climate control glass receives industry praise

Share

Following its debut at EcoBuild, ESG Solarchromic™ Climate Control Glass attracted attention from those looking to minimise solar heat gain during summer months yet maximise it during the winter.

With its electronically controllable tint, the glass not only reduces a building’s energy consumption, it acts as an increasingly sought-after design feature. Available in manual or automatic control, panels can also be controlled individually or as a multiple panel system. This makes it ideal in any situation where excessive solar heat gain is likely to be an issue – for example, large facades, atria, and glass walkways.

The intelligent glazed system uses electrical impulses to adopt new tones, instantly controlling the transmission of heat and light into a building. As an ideal adjustable solar controlled glass, it provides maximum comfort whilst saving a substantial amount of energy.

ESG Solarchromic™ Climate Control is available in sizes up to 1350x3300mm, custom shapes and sizes, and can be combined with any of ESG’s range of LCD privacy, security or fire resistant glass products for a total glass solution.

Scott Sinden, Managing Director of ESG, comments:

“The increasingly fluid relationship between digital technology and glass offers Architects and Interior Designers a completely new way to define a space and the way in which it responds to the environment.

“Many of ESG’s conversations with Architects and Specifiers looking at intelligent glass systems centre on the comfort of a building’s occupants. With ESG Solarchromic™ Climate Control Glass energy efficiencies are not only made, but the need for an air conditioning system is eliminated. This significantly reduces the overall running costs of a building.”
