ENER-G puts an Energy Management System into its CHP

UK cogeneration specialist ENER-G has launched a two-in-one combined heat and power (CHP) remote monitoring and control system and energy management system (EMS).

The new technology, called E-Power, will optimise performance of both the CHP system and wider energy plant within a building – providing cost and carbon savings for customers.

The property, a former barn with a Corfe stone slate and timber construction, is located off the gas grid and the owners were reluctant to consider oil as a heating source due to its fluctuating price levels and need to regularly replenish the tank. Owner Catherine Mittins instead approached Dorset-based renewable energy specialist NGPS to discuss the possibilty of fitting an air source heat pump.

Veissmann to showcase pioneering fuel cell domestic heat and power system at Ecobuild 2014

At Ecobuild 2014 (4th-6th March at the ExCel; stand N1820/21), leading international heating systems manufacturer, Viessmann, will unveil the first mass-produced, commercially available, domestic fuel cell in Europe. Viessmann and Panasonic have jointly developed the Vitovalor 300-P polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC)-based micro combined heat and power system (mCHP), which goes on sale in Germany this April. By 2020, Panasonic and Viessmann expect a five-digit number of systems to be installed in Europe.

Shetland Islands Council Chooses Biomass
