Bring a Bit of British Back into your Home….Feel Luxury Scottish Highland wool beneath your feet

Share

Glen Shee is the first product to be launched as part of Kingsmead Carpets’ Highland Fleece range. Glen Shee, a flagship product, is 100% British made and is now available from local retailers offering 20 colour ways to suit any room and decor.

Kingsmead Carpets was established over 40 years ago with its heritage linking back to the Ayrshire town of New Cumnock. Glen Shee is a truly innovative product that has emerged from one of the oldest and most traditional industries made from Highland wool fleece taking the company back to its roots.

From calm neutrals like Stone, Pebble and Marble to vibrant bold Rioja, Lima and Aubergine it adds a touch of British heritage into your home complimenting any decor from a classic to  contemporary theme.

The specially selected wool is spun into a yarn that produces a superior quality carpet; the springiness of the wool provides resilience and enables it to maintain its luxury handle and appearance for a long time. The shorn fleeces are certifified under the Platinum Certification by the British Wool Board and are sourced entirely from Scotland. The range also carries the Enco Certificate due to the wool being processed in arguably the most environmentally friendly scouring plant of its kind in the world.

Highland Fleece is such an exclusive blend of specially selected fleece wools that have grown on sheep that thrive in the varied terrain of Scotland, that the SBID have recognised its special characteristics and have endorsed the product.

UntitledVanessa Brady, President of SBID, explains ‘a products heritage is becoming increasingly important to an educated consumer. Whilst buyers are driven by design led innovation they are becoming increasingly aware of the manufacturers corporate social responsibility.

Quality as a competitive strategy overtook through the financial crisis converting cheap impulse buys to considered long term investment purchases. This is particularly evident in carpet production where Kingsmead has a unique source of natural fibre, state of the art manufacturing techniques which combines tradition with colour and trend forecasts. The collection due to its sheer quantity limitations makes this carpet a rare, long lasting flooring suitable for a lifetimes wear in a modern environment’.

Officially launched last September it is now available at Kingsmead Carpets approved retailers at a RRP of £40 per m2. To view the range and to find your nearest retailer visit www.kingsmeadcarpets.co.uk
