BLM British Lead introduces technical support service
BLM British Lead is pleased to announce the launch of its own in-house technical support service with David Pounds joining the company as Technical Advisor. David comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry, having spent 13 years as Technical Advisor at the Lead Sheet Association.
The service aims to fulfil the requirements of architects, specifiers, surveyors, contractors and property owners working at design, construction or post installation stages.

A wide range of services will be available including free basic advice through to five levels of paid service for more in depth or detailed responses, reports and site visits as well as bespoke support packages.
Option 1 provides clients with written comments returned by email against a description, sketch, drawing, image or photograph supplied.
Option 2 builds on option 1 by providing a report with comments against photographs primarily answering concerns over the lead work detail carried out. This will include written comments against a maximum of 5 photographs per charge and reference to details available from the latest edition of the LSTA’s Rolled Lead Sheet Manual, plus up to 2 hours of telephone technical support.
Option 3 provides clients with a site visit from one of our experienced Technical Advisors who will provide verbal comment and advice.
Option 4 is an extension of Option 3 where a site visit will be followed up with a written report with photographic evidence and references to copies of relevant sections of the latest edition of the LSTA’s Rolled Lead Sheet Manual.
Option 5 provides clients with a bespoke technical support package including consultancy site and/or office visits with written support. Ideal for those who wish to have a BLM Technical Advisor on hand throughout their project.
BLM currently provide support to those looking for a reference point when fitting lead with their specially designed basic fitting and video guides.
The basic fitting guides are designed to assist installations of Rolled Lead Sheet in a range of roofing applications.
BLM also offer exclusive step by step video guides covering the installation of common Leadwork applications including soakers, step flashing, step & cover flashing, apron & linear flashing and hip & ridge flashing. In addition, a range of videos showing the application of BLM’s key ancillary products are also available.
