BIID LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE E-LEARNING PLATFORM: BIID KNOWLEDGE HUB

Share

Today the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) launches its new online e-learning platform, the BIID Knowledge Hub. In a first for the industry, this cloud-based online platform will host a wide range of educational content to foster the learning and development of interior designers and interior design students. Users can register and access the content on the platform free of charge.

“The BIID has developed the new BIID Knowledge Hub to deliver flexible, online learning for interior designers. We understand the time constraints interior designers are often under so we wanted to create a solution for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), which was easily accessible” comments Susie Rumbold, President of the BIID. “This platform is designed to complement the wide range of live learning events we already offer, such as seminars, workshops and our flagship Annual Conference.”

The BIID Knowledge Hub provides the ultimate flexible education for designers, allowing them to improve their skills, knowledge and expertise at their own pace. The BIID has partnered with a range of organisations, such as trade bodies, educational establishments and charities, to provide accredited learning for the platform. These include the UK Green Building Council, CEDIA, the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA), the British Woodworking Federation, Dominic Schuster, Spiral Cellars, Natural Stone Projects, GoodWeave, the Wood Window Alliance, and Swedish Wood.

Suitable for designers working on residential and commercial projects, the long term aim of the Knowledge Hub is to provide a wide range of content on all areas of interior design, including project case studies, specifying products and finishes, regulations and legislation, health and safety, sustainability, inclusive design, professional practice and more.

The BIID is also inviting any individuals or organisations who would like to share their knowledge or expertise to get in touch to find out how they can get involved.
