A & G develops new paving flag for Canterbury’s new theatre

Acheson & Glover (A&G), a leading supplier of premium hard landscaping products, developed a new paving flag to meet the architect’s specific design requirements for the £25.6m Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.
KWA Architects approached A&G to provide a value engineered alternative to the flame finished natural granite stone specified for all of the hard landscaping areas. TerraPave Natural Aggregate Flags in a Florento (Marlowe Special) textured finish was chosen as a high quality, cost effective option. Its exceptional appearance is achieved by using state of the art manufacturing and finishing equipment with the natural aggregates providing the surface colour rather than concrete dyes.
A&G supplied many different samples and undertook trials of new colours mixes to allow KWA and the client design team to select the combination that best met their design concept.
